With a mix of grunge and Easter-like pastels, Volcom’s Spring 2010 collection looks a little… hard to wear. While I am usually a huge fan of Volcom streetwear, this season seems to be having a bit of an identity crisis. Where are the classic iconic Stone styles and the fashion forward pieces? Is Volcom losing their edge? I feel like this collection borders on looking a bit trashy, sorry.
In their defense, here is how Volcom describes their 2010 girl’s streetwear collection:
For Spring 2010, the Volcom Girls’ collection embraces contradiction by creating looks that hit just the right balance between tough and chic. The collection transitions into spring with a dynamic mix of warm pops of color and cool pastels, mixing in laid-back plaids, easy day dresses, and effortless jumpers with attention to novelty detailing.

Posted in Blog, Outerwear & Style on May 8th, 2009 by courtney – Be the first to commentCheck out Topo Ranch – a semi-new clothing brand featuring all organic apparel. The original Topo Ranch was founded by a survivor of the Donner Party between Monterey and San Benito Counties in California. Fondly named after the Spanish term for the land’s most popular inhabitants, the winged “Topo” has now become the brand’s mascot. Generations passed and the Topo Ranch was revived from a cattle ranch to an organic dry goods manufacturer.
The winged gopher definitely brought my attention to this company. Their organic women’s tees feature fun graphics and look like they have a great fit and feel. Plus they have some killer deals in their sale section (like $15 for organic twill skirts).
Topo Ranch is the official merchandise provider for the Sundance Film Festival and has created a cult-like following with their styles that feature unique details that bring their namesake ranch into the clothing’s story.
