Here is another great Press Release from our friends at K2 about Gretchen Bleiler’s new eco-friendly board, the K2 EcoPop. Thanks Kevin Winkle at K2 Snowboarding!
K2 Snowboarding Combines State of the Art Technology with Environmentally Sensitive Construction in the New EcoPop Board
When an X-Games Gold Medalist asks for a new board to help her compete at the top of her game, you had better make it good. When that gold medalist is Gretchen Bleiler, you had better make the board just as good for the environment. K2’s new EcoPop is both of those things, featuring our state of the art Flatline Technology and Harshmellow damping while at the same time utilizing K2’s Eco Conscious Construction (ECC) to help keep winters cold and snowy.

From the former designers of Foursquare and Special Blend comes the most exciting new company in the snowboard industry. Bond Outerwear will be debuting their first snowboard outerwear line for the 2009/2010 season.
Bond is a carbon neutral company and, unlike other eco-friendly companies, they have created a unique outerwear line with price points that are actually reasonable for the average snowboarder. Utilizing a top down sustainability model, Bond Outerwear is using recycled materials like PET (made from plastic bottles) for their shell fabrics, scrapped plastic pellets from other industries for buttons and snaps, and discarded coconut shells for a wicking liner.
Don’t worry, Bond has also managed to create an eco-friendly collection with out the hippie aesthetics. Be prepared for bright plaids and contrast color-blocking with an athletic fit.
Check back in the next couple of days for an early preview of next year’s Bond Jackets for Women.
