Best Spring Break Snowboard Trips

The Pyramid Pose, a Classic for Spring Break Photos
Spring Break shredding is one of my favorite times of the season. How can you not be stoked to ride in sunshine and soft snow? Below is a list of some of my favorite Spring Break resorts that feature laid-back atmospheres and wallet-friendly deals.
1. Sun Valley, ID. The only time you can ride Sun Valley on the cheap is during Spring Break. If you don’t have a place to stay though, be prepared to pay some serious coin for lodging. Mt. Baldy features pristine groomers for days, a bitchin’ super pipe, and tons of wealthy retired folks. Be on the lookout for Carl, close to 80-years-old and carving like a mad man on his alpine board down College.
2. Big Sky, MT. If you haven’t ridden in Montana yet, you are missing out on one of the best resorts in America. Big Sky features 2,000 vertical feet, light dry powder, and no lift lines ever. For under $200 you can get two days of snowboarding and 2 nights of lodging at the Huntley (a ski in, ski out hotel). Hit up the Black Bear for your apres and mix in with the locals.
3. Northstar at Tahoe, CA. The best resort for Spring Break park riding is Northstar. Featuring 5 different terrain parks, Northstar has the best shaped and groomed features for every ability level of freestlye riders. This week they are offering a special college deal – $56/day with a student I.D. Stay in Reno to save some cash, as long as you don’t gamble it all away…
4. Mt. Hood, OR. With 3 resorts to choose from, Mt. Hood offers the best combination for discounts and fun. Ski Bowl is a rad beginner resort, but snow gets a little sparse in the spring. Meadows has awesome all-mountain conditions and is currently running a $99 unlimited spring pass. Timberline is open through the summer, so if you’re a very late Spring Breaker you can still hit world renowned parks here through the summer. Stay in Portland and enjoy one of the most eco-friendly cities in the country (we also have great food, better coffee, and more micro-breweries and strip clubs than you could ever imagine).
5. Brighton, UT. Salt Lake is always sunny this time of the year. You could literally ride your bicycle up to the resort during spring break. It’s just that nice. Brighton is a low key resort that has great versatility with it’s terrain. Make sure you pack your steeze-iest kit though, as hipsters are abundant.
