Reverse Camber – The Future of Snowboarding?

Banana Technology, Rocker, Triple Base… call it what you will, but there is no denying the growing trend of reverse camber.  Many companies are using reverse camber technologies for the majority of their snowboard models in 2010.  While I will probably never go back to riding a traditional camber board in powder, I typically do not ride rocker boards for the majority of my snowboarding.  Is reverse camber the future of snowboarding?  Is it really a technology that will benefit snowboarders?  What do you guys think?  Do you ride rocker boards?  Would you buy a rocker board?

I have ridden the K2 Gyrator on a powder day and it was pretty epic once you got used to it. I would love to give rocker a try on a park day with a park rocker board to see how they ride. Definitely lots of Lib and Gnu kids out there saying it is the best, but are the pros really even riding this technology? Don’t you loose pop off of the tail without the camber in the board?

  3. Skate mission, that’s one of the issues a lot of companies haven’t realized is you have to over build the board to retain the pop. I ride a lot of Never Summers with their R.C. Technology which has micro cambers in the nose and tail, still get the pop. But when I go and ride something like the Skatebanana it’s just so dead because that board has nothing in the tips.
