A FREE high def women’s snowboarding video from super talented industry vets featuring the best female riders? What’s the catch? I got the facts from Mike Lewis’ interview with Stan Evans (amazing photographer) and Jeremy Mills of JMills Entertainment.
Stan and Jeremy put this project together last season to fill a gap they saw in the women’s snowboard film market. They analyzed every angle of the women’s market “to create a media movement that appeals to a broad audience (men or women) and on multiple levels.” Their approach is unique, as they are trying to create a professional film that artistically displays the progression of women’s riding, while making it accessible and fun to watch for every level and gender of rider.
You know the saying, there’s no such thing as a free HD video… “In the end, [they] decided to use [their] movie as a direct marketing tool as well as an art/lifestyle piece.” While STANCE promises to have some of the best-ever footage of Gretchen Bleiler, Hana Beaman, Torah Bright and other top ladies, expect to see some direct product placement and advertisements for the film’s sponsors.
Stan says “The old male model doesn’t work here. Guys will shell out to see what new maneuver Travis Rice invented but not women,” and he’s absolutely right. But I’m willing to put up with some blatant commercials to see the good stuff for free. Check out the teaser here and stand by to download the full length feature on October 1st.
