Landing on knuckles, ledges, boxes, rails and rocks is abusive on snowboards. So in Rome’s high-end boards, they place thinly milled Titanal aluminum plates under the binding area to fight against core compressions. This patent-pending technology increases strength 2.5 times.

LDC (Low Density Control) Technology is Rome’s wood laminate patterning where they place low-density Paulonia wood in low-stress areas of the core in order to reduce significant amounts of weight.  The LDC tech keeps this core superlight, while Impact Plates fight against core compression.
