WANT TO SMELL LIKE A MOUNTAIN?
WILDERNESS PERFUMER INTRODUCES NEW BACKPACKER'S COLOGNES.
Oakland, CA – Fragrance-maker Juniper Ridge has built a cult following by bottling the sunshine, wind, and rain from the mountains and deserts of the West Coast. With the October 15 launch of their expanded line of Backpacker’s Colognes at www.juniperridge.com, the company has broken new ground in its quest to bring fragrance back to its wild roots.
The two-ounce Backpacker’s Colognes are the culmination of years spent on the trail. Designed to be worn by women and men, the colognes are made from real plants and tree trimmings harvested in the backcountry by the Juniper Ridge crew.
“This is fragrance for people who normally avoid fragrance,” says Juniper Ridge Founder, Hall Newbegin. “If you can’t get enough of the way air smells in the mountains, you’re going to love this cologne.”
Together, the five Backpacker’s Colognes serve as an aromatic map of the West’s most revered places. Fragrances include the California coast’s Big Sur ($100 retail), the Sierra Nevada’s Yuba River ($100 retail), the Mojave Desert’s Caruthers Canyon ($122 retail), and Pacific Northwest’s Siskiyou ($100 retail) and Timberline Trail ($135 retail).
“Our Backpacker’s Colognes are the best encapsulation of what we do,” says Newbegin. “They’re made entirely with real stuff from the real places, and we’re so excited that folks are finally going to have a chance to experience them.”
Slap the colognes on your jeans or the back of your neck, and you’ll be transported to alpine swimming holes, secret Cas- cade trailheads, and Redwood-shaded campsites.
“You never feel more alive than you do in the outdoors,” says Newbegin. “These Backpacker’s Colognes take you there.”
