Kaz's recovery keeps coming along and gets better every day. We've gone down from 4 doses of codeine/day to 3 and have started using the sedative every day after she eats and goes to the bathroom. She seems to be more active this time around compared to when she had her left TPLO.
Going outside is still a bit of a chore and slightly awkward for us all. Her meds seem to make her constipated, so she's only pooped twice since she's been home from surgery. She has terrible gas. Terrible.
The incision site is looking good and her fluid sac seems to be decreasing in size. Bruising is still pretty minimal.
We've started moving her into the bedroom at night, so I'm no longer sleeping on the floor in the living room with her. We fence her off in her bed so she can't walk around or try to jump on our bed. She seems to be doing good. We put the e-collar on her, just in case.
CONCERNS: Her legs been shaking every now and again. It is similar to what she does if she gets scared or nervous about something (like going to the vet). I don't know if it's a weird muscle spasm or if it's an emotional thing for her.
QUESTIONS: Can we clean off some of the dried blood around the orthoscopy holes? Why is her gas so bad and should we be concerned?
